PROFESSOR DR ISMAIL DAUT MERBOK PARLIMENTARY CANDIDATE

Prof. Dr. Ismail Daut is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and the second deputy vice-Chancellor for University Malaysia Perlis. 

He graduated from the University Science Malaysia, with distinction in Applied Science Specialist in Electronic and Industry Technology, received his M.Sc. in Electrical and Electromagnetic Engineering from University of Wales, College of Cardiff, United Kingdom and obtained his PhD in Energy Conservation and Power Engineering at University of Wales, Collage of Cardiff, United Kingdom in 1991. 

He has develop a solution in finding new energy sources anticipating the world energy supply crisis. He is developing a long-term planning in developing solar energy  to solar power stations. 

Prof. Dr. Ismail Daut starts his career as a lecturer in the School of Physics, University Sains Malaysia in 1984. He was a visiting lecturer at University Islam Sumatera Utara, Medan Indonesia in 1991. 

Later join UniMAP as a Dean of the School of Computer and Communication Engineering from 2002 until 2003. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2002. 

He is among the pioneer responsible for the establishment of the School of Electrical Systems Engineering UniMAP in 2003 and was later appointed as Dean of the School of Electrical Systems Engineering from 2003 to 2010 and at the same time held the position as Head of Cluster for Energy Electrical & Electronics Industrial System. 

He was promoted to Professor in 2007 and became a Deputy-Vice-Chancellor in 2010. Besides extensive experience as a lecturer for 28 years and is also a member of the Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, United Kingdom. (Source UNIMAP)

  3. Hello Prof, I would be voting at Merbok parliament seat, would like to know you better and how you would make changes in Sg. Petani, my hometown..I'm happy to see that you have an inclination towards renewable energy, would you be working on this area in Sg.Petani? I moved out from Sg.Petani 15 years ago and would love to return if there are opportunities and incentives for organic farming
